Bio: Cruel and vindictive, Takasugi Shinsuke is a man driven solely by his desire to destroy the world that had taken away the person he respected the most, his childhood teacher Shoyou-sensei, from him. Having grown up with the main protagonists, Katsura Koutarou and Sakata Gintoki, Takasugi learned the ways of the samurai and how to use a sword under the tutelage of Shoyou-sensei. When he was a teenager, he fought alongside them and Sakamoto Tatsuma in the Joui war to expel the Amanto, the name used for the aliens who had invaded Edo. After they lost the war, the four of them went their separate ways, Takasugi choosing to lead his own personal army made up of the most dangerous assassins from all over Japan, the Kiheitai, and continue fighting against the Amanto. Howevever, his goals have turned from saving the country to drowning Edo under a sea of fire. |
